if you are in a sucky position(where you cant swing your normal way) yes the rules dont forbid turning over the golf club. its well in the rules to do so.
physically a can you do it? yep but its pretty much for emergency only because you cant get as much distance from it compared to the club sitting normally and i have seen this before. if you hit that face wrong that ball can fly back at you and smack you in the face so be careful with it.
its better to just learn to hit the opposite club and carry one in your bag.if your a lefty grab a righty and learn to hit it. it does come useful at time unless you got 14 clubs in your bag then u got a choice to make
